    Some flowers are looking ok. October 4.
    Peanut butter shrub when leaves are crushed they smell just like peanut butter. Harlequin glorybower .

    Annie— you know, that Dianthus …when you look at it good— it is actually a very lovely flower. It is small, but the detail!
    I grow different sorts every year. Some years they come back, they are; after all, perennials. Having said that, our conditions are not appreciated by them.
    I can get excited by small beautiful things in the garden. Thanks for showing him.

    Pac— what’s not to like here. Everything from garden insects to peanut butter to that show-stopping Campsis. That is one of the most technically composed fotos one could hope to see. Bordering on perfect, I’d say. Chapeau.
    I want to say, the Hosta composition is also not shabby at all either.

    @Sjoerd Do you cut your Dianthus back in summer?
    Mine got all ratty looking so, I cut them back to about 5" in mid summer. Once temps cooled down they have started blooming again.

    I love the frilly, frayed edges of the petals and the curly stamens . :D
