This is a wildflowerthat I transplanted from my lawn a few years ago. It never fails to bloom in late summer. One name for it is boneset or something like that.

Anniekay like the blue flowers and for a weed of some sort it has earned a place in your garden.

Still a few blooms hanging in there.

Anniekay your plant could be ageratum bluemist flower. That can be a weed but also is a horticultural species derived from the weed which can be a very attractive garden plant with powder blue flowers. I had a few ageratums for awhile. An exceptionally cold icy winter took them out. It is a spectacular plant when in full bloom a lovely specimen to wow our gardener friends.:smt026

Thank you Sjoerd that hardy geranium has survived all the nasty winter weather over many years not to mention all the ground critter attacks. It’s an outstanding hardy tough plant. Exceptional colorful lil flowers all season long til winter’s sleep.

It's the wild form of ageratum. That's why it still looks perky without a drop of water for almost 4 weeks !! I plan on seeding some in my shade garden in the fall. It loves shade here and is on the north side of the house.

Excellent plan. Will brighten up any shade garden. Once established it may reseed every year. Just not sure exactly where it will eventually pop up . There’s always an option to move the starts. It’s way too cold here for them they are in between an annual and a no show in my garden I miss them. To much to pot grow them and keep moving them in and out every season. I’m getting to overwhelmed and trying to down size . Besides it’s more fun to chat with like minded gardeners like you and other folks here.

This wild one would definetely grow in your zone and come back every year. It was growing in my lawn. I ran over it for two years and kept thinking I need to dig it up and see what it is. It was only in a 4" square rootball. I transplanted it into this 3 x5' bed and it filled it by self seeding the very first year.

    Sjoerd lovey fall blooms. :smt055
Careful round that aconitum / monkshood. Every piece including the root is poisonous, even to touch. :)
