My favorite is brussel sprouts but I've never tried to grow it. My favorite - that I can grow - is tomatoes! I like that I can just pick them off the plant and eat them.

My favorite is cucumbers, not only because they are so easy to grow and so prolific, but because they are versatile. They go great in fresh veggie tacos, as pickles, in salads or by themselves in sour cream and dill. Yum! And the good thing about cucumbers is that I can't seem to kill them, lol. They grow like crazy in the desert. Just add enough water and that's about it.

Blackthumb, I just ate a Dill pickle which was made with pickles we grew. I really like cucumbers, but tomatoes will always be my fav.

My favorite this year was Malabar Spinach - it grows like crazy and loves the heat. The leaves are large and meaty, and if that's too much for you the smaller leaves are more mild. They are great for creamed spinach or using them as 'wraps' since the leaves can get to be very large. It also has a very good deep rich flavor.

This was my first time with Malabar spinach too. It tastes great, but toward summer's end, it was attacked by a fungus.

My favourite vegetable is broad beans. So tasty when picked young and they are so easy to freeze. I have just eaten a plateful of broad beans, pasta, parsley and some feta cheese.
