Ninth of July, and we have a temperature of 71 degrees at 8:45 a.m. and sunshine. This is the second day in July that we've had the house open and the air conditioning off. If this is climate change, bring it on!

And it finally rained today. Not much, but at least the temperature (first time in over 2 months) came below 30°C (85°F). Otherwise it was always way hotter, even during the nights...

I feel like a long prison sentence just came to end. That's how relieved everyone over here is now feeling.

Don't know what home weather station was saying, as I was outside driving on the road most of the day.

So what we in Karachi now do, during such weather? Obviously go out for barbeque after sunset!

Today is hot. Predicted 104F. I got up early and watered container plants. The toms and peppers are on the drip irrigation.

I don't know if this is funny or sad. I guess "gallows humor" comes close. It kind of describes my thoughts this summer.

I just want to say, to all our friends/members from the Pacific Coast of North America. That I understand what you all must be feeling. I know first hand what a prolonged heatwave is like. So your plight hasn't gone unnoticed, (I have been experiencing something similar in my part of the world). I just wish there was some way I could make it all normal again for everyone.

@Jewell The high temps are bringin out the insects here too, driving the dogs crazy. Sending coastal breezes your way. Stay cool . It’s a hot one today..again.

Am planning how to free all my container plants for next summer. Too much watering. My large containers are large but need to rethink their contents and placements. I am cooler than to the south of me, 30 miles makes a significant difference in temperature. Off shore winds are predicted to be cooler. The mountains, sound and ocean helps keep temps more temperate.

@Jewell freeing container plants is a must in this heat. I do have a small system to water all my planters located in close proximity on patios.

You tube version of watering plant containers. Great when goin on vaca.

@Logan wow pretty fancy map action showing the jet stream , how, when and where the rainfall is located. Lots of rain spikes, graphs, ocean currents directed around your area.
Even covered the Pacific Ocean and PNW coving the extreme heat in the US. Interesting. Thanx for sharing.
Next week there are signs that the weather will warm up a bit more for you. Lot’s of tidbits in this fine tuned.world map weather report.
