    Good spot Mr Riley :)

I was wondering what to do with the joint, didn't want to use grout as it might crack but the only thing I've got in the shed is some clear roofing mastic. Didn't want to use that as it might look wrong. That grout cure looks like the badgers knees, I'll look into getting some. Ta for that :)

Get some good quality white silicone. Decide how wide you want the bead, then mask the tiles and the edge of the bath with masking tape, (not the narrowest) firm it down, so the silicone can't creep under the edge.
If you're not used to applying silicone with a gun, you can make a mess of it.

But you can get this kit that makes it easy. They're available on eBay. There's various makes, most are for either removing the old stuff as well as applying the new.

Decide the profile you want from the several supplied and put that on the end of the tool. Apply enough silicone in the gap. Remember, the bath will expand slightly when it's used and contract when it's emptied, so you don't want it coming away from a too narrow bead.
Then drag the tool firmly along it in one go.
Excess silicone will end up on the masking tape. Leave it for an hour, then drag the tape away, making sure you drag it downwards from the edge of the bath for the bottom bit and upwards from the bit on the tiles, so you don't disturb the silicone. Then let it dry overnight.

I've taken down and put away the Christmas lights in the hall already and the Christmas cards. So tomorrow, we'll already be back to normal for the New Year.
We usually make plans for the coming year about now.
We discussed changing the carpets. The last time it was done was at least ten years ago.
But it was a pain, as so much "stuff" has to be moved.
Because there's usually only two of us in the house and we have this "push-pull," Vax washer/cleaner I use at least once a year, it's only the hall that's showing a bit of wear and then only when the daylight from the kitchen window catches it.

So we decided not to do the whole house (again), we'll just have the hall stairs and first floor landing done, but not until the summer.

I think I'll buy myself a new Stressless leather recliner. The one I spend most time in is not as comfortable as it was. There's two better ones in the lounge, but my wife says I can't have one of them, "as she needs the other one for when her friends visit us." I don't mind.
The one I'm looking at is one of these. It's the same model and colour as "the one she won't let me have." I won't bother with a footstool. We've got three and only use two.

Sorry Annie holiday weekends are the worst. Even emergency waiting rooms can be inefficient.
    Sending healing blessings your way.:setc_088:

There were many times when my DH had to go to the emergency room for treatment during the holidays. At one point there were no beds available in the hospital upstairs, nurses and doctors were on strike , so he had to wait in the hallway on a gurney for several hours before he finally was placed upstairs and received treatment.

Speaking of holiday issues to receive services that we pay for… I have had a dead car battery for 5 weeks trying to get triple A to bring a new battery. Between 2 severe back to back windstorms and floods, & Thanksgiving and
X-mas.. New Year’s . Hoping to get a replacement battery next week sometime. So I guess it matters when emergencies happen … holidays and storms can be a tricky time.
At least my rider mower is chugging away. :smt044

Mine are mostly down … but I leave my Xmas tree up all year. It’s too heavy to carry up a 2 story ladder putting heavy sections of a 15 foot tree together. Eventually adapted to decorating the tree for other holiday’s , family celebrations and birthdays. It fits with the outside garden tree theme around here. So it fits right in. :smt044

I bought a new sideboard because I really need the storage. It came fully assembled except for the legs. This thing is heavy !! Solid wood !! I can barely scooch it an inch forward !! It was REALLY wrapped up good !! It had clear, thick plastic wrapped around and around, then, once you got to the box and opened it up...it was in ANOTHER box !! I had to cut off the one long side of both boxes just to get it out.

    Now I'm pooped !! :smt044

(When is JD coming to help me ???). o_O. :smt044

I have a friend coming tomorrow to help me lay it on it's side, put the legs on hoist it up to it's feet, (which I'm not sure we can even accomplish,) and slide it into place..

    Thanks @Logan and @Pacnorwest .

I liked the louvers on the doors and the drawers are quite deep. I'm going to have all my CDs and DVDs in there and my stereo, which is taking up space in my bedroom, on there. My cabinets will be much less crowded once I get it filled up. :p

Anniekay I just did the exact opposite. Put all that stuff in storage all labeled & gave my records and cd collection to one of my son’s who’s a well known DJ artist in the Club scene… techno music he puts together cuts albums online and can really get people off their butts and dancing at the night clubs. Others were donated , but untangling all the speaker wires :crying: ‘A’wire connected to ‘ B’ wire…all untangled filled a large leaf trash baggie full of wires and connections. What a nightmare. Left a few records and the and tuner in place and LP player deck . It’s a lot cleaner looking.

My end game is to make things simple in the end so my kids won’t have to spend their precious time dealing with cleaning out the house and pouring stuff into dumptsters or donated bins… decisions… decisions… keeping it simple.

Good luck setting up the stero stuff in the new sideboard . Post a pic when you’re finished.

I've ordered my new Stressless chair.

It will be exactly the same as this one we've had for fifteen years. Dark olive Paloma leather.

I got a reduction of 25%. I only had to pay a 20% deposit, the balance to be paid before delivery. This could take between ten to twelve weeks as they have to be made to order, style, base, choice of leather, colour etc., and they come from Sweden.
The only store that could get me the one I wanted, was in Devon. Stores more local from where we'd bought the other three, either don't stock them any more, or have closed.
I was concerned about the cost of delivery. But I was told it was free!

The guy at the store told me that last year they sold some furniture to someone in North Manchester. They could have bought it from Housing Units, which the customer said he could almost see from his house and they wanted £47 for delivery!

We too like sideboards. We bought this as it's, "mid century modern," in style like our wall unit in the front room. From Dwell in Manchester, ten years ago.

Also this coffee table. Either or both of the two halves of the top, can be slid out quite a bit to reveal a storage space below.

Dwell is another store that sadly has gone.
