When to plant out Hydrangeas.

Discussion in 'Hydrangea' started by little dorrit, Apr 7, 2016.

  1. Is it too cold to plant out potted hydrangeas, and if I want to add blueing agent to keep it blue, will the compound affect other plants?

    Thanks.

I cannot say if it is too early to plant out your hydrangeas...for I have no idea where you live...but in my country folks have begun buying and planting them out already.

I do not believe that the bluing agent will necessarily affect other plants if they are not right up against your hydrangea. I will say though, that most bluing agents that I know of lower the soil pH, making it acidic. You do not want chalk (alkaline)-loving plants near to this, naturally.

Good luck with your Hydrangeas...and let us know how you get on.
