Cherylad reminded me how wonderful any tiny bloom is during the cold, short days of winter in a discussion on here about Maranta blooming. No doubt. In the middle of July, they might go unnoticed. What tiny little joys are you clinging to this winter?

    Also blooming...
    wax Begonias
    Coleus
    cane Begonias
    purple heart (Tradescantia pallida)
parlor palm (Chamaedorea elegans) (Yep, I'm so bored, these little green/yellow balls are exciting for now.)

    Buds not open yet:
    Easter cactus
    Callisia fragrans

They're no Gardenias, but I love them.

There seems to be no pattern to when/why the blooms occasionally open on Callisia fragrans, but I check often!
