Looking good.Bet you never thought you would become a farmer. When you start feeding bury the food so it does not draw flies.

You are so right Donna, before I started gardening to me worms = fishing.

Yes I will definitely bury the food, thanks Donna.

Yesterday some of the worms were moved into their new residence ... hope they like apartment living :)

I have no idea what kind of worm they are but they were doing well in my compost pile.

The final worm farm looks more like worms apartment.

Now keeping my fingers crossed the new residence will be happy.

KK, I'm sure your worms will be very happy. You have done a great job. Just don't over feed them. If you see a lot of food in the box do not feed. I don't remember if I told you this, the smaller you chop up the food the less time it take for it to become castings. I some times put it in my blender.

My worms have moved to the new tier also.

Thanks Donna, I understand that the compost, newspaper, corrugated cardboard, dried glass clipping and leaves are also food to them right? Adding kitchen waste are extras, or fresh food is also required for their well being?

I have added pounded egg shells and earth into their bedding.

Yes KK newspapers and corrugated cardboard grass and leaves are good. All kitchen waste is good but NO meat or dairy. Potatoe peels, greens, bread, coffee grounds, tea bags. Just about anything.

That is so nice and tidy. So different than when I id it. I went to buying them from a wholesaler to feed the robins some 25 years ago. They ate way too much to take out of the compost. Where were 6 robins and there wouldn't have been anything left in 1 week.
