Ah ha!!! The Rosa banksiae 'Lutea' (Lady Banks Yellow Rose, Yellow Lady Banks Rose) I planted late last Spring has put down good roots over the last few months and has started blooming. This is the first one to open, it's barely 1 inch (2.5cm) across. The stems have loads of clusters of buds so it should be gorgeous in a few days.
