I have a weakness for mince pies. Seeing these sends me right over the edge of serious hunger. That is a great job.

    Chuckle...ahh, the waistline. I won’t go there.
The circumference increase is an occupational hazard isn’t it. Perhaps one to ignore during these holiday seasons.
    Here’s wishing you strength, mate.

My 3mtr length of pelmet arrived on Monday and I finished the job this afternoon.

It was a right pain cutting the mitre joints with just a mitre block and tenon saw, professionals have electric table mitre saws.
I had to "box in" over the new cupboard to support the MDF I used on which to paste the wallpaper.
I was on a pair of tall steps with my head up againt the ceiling near the spotlights. Had to use a "stubby" screwdriver to mount the batons on the ceiling. Not an easy job.

Used the bit of worktop in front of the cupboards as a paste table as there's no room for one in the kitchen.

I reckon I could get a job decorating the interiors of naffin' telephone boxes.

It was amusing as my wife often offers to "help," but I always decline. There's no room in the kitchen for two people to be working in such a small room and she'd want to tell me how to do it, or explain to her what I was doing and I haven't the time.
I was quite patient when I was up the ladder when she called me into the lounge to show me something trivial on the TV, then said. "Have you any wallpaper?"

I said "Yes! But it's not the same colour." that got her going for a bit.

    Anyway the jobs done.

Logan, those mince pies are absolutely magnificent! You are the master of pastry.
I made cranberry/orange/nut breads today to pop in the freezer and put on Christmas trays. Although the temperature was bordering on 70 degrees, it still smelled like the holidays in the kitchen.

Open your kitchen window next time Jane, maybe I can spell the cooking too.;)
Better not place them on the window sill—they may mysteriously disappear. ——what!? No, why I have no idea who might take them.:setc_014:

Yes but this year it seemed that I wouldn't lose the weight that I put on over last winter, never mind last Christmas.:chuckle:

Logan, I made six mini-loaves and sliced one for a photo. My husband didn't take a photo, but he ate one mini-loaf! I must learn how to operate that camera.

Finally our son is going to visit tomorrow morning, he'll be arriving on the train. He said that this time of year it's not too busy and it will be safe. He'll stay until late afternoon. We've got a lovely card for him and he's got some treats for the boys and a card for us.
