I have just started using Magix Photo Manager and am really getting into it.

My other favourite is Open Office (I know it sounds sad) But after years of Microsoft Office I switched and found it no problem at all. One of the best functions is the ability to save in MS Office format so if I e-mail and attachment to someone who uses MS office they can open it read it, edit it etc. Best of all its free 8)

So much software on my PC so down to what I use the most...
Microsoft office - word, excel, publisher, picture manager

i-tunes - cannot work without music going in the back ground :D

    Flock - web browser

    AVG antivirus

Norton ghost for backing up my hard drive nightly

YouSendit - uploading large files for others to then download if the file is too big for an e-mail attachment.

I really like Desktop Calendar by Tinnes and have used it for years. I puts an interactive calendar that you can customize right on your desktop. You can type events on the days that they happen and a reminder starts popping up 5 days in advance.

I used to use 3M digital Post It Notes that look just like paper post-its on your desktop, but when we got the new pute I found that it doesn't work with Windows Vista. So I did some searching and found NoteZilla which does the same thing. You can make post its with active web links, you can put alarms on them that chime when you set the alarm for, you can store them in categories or shrink them to just the title of the post it on the desktop.

I use an old laptop sometimes when I just do some surfing on the net and then I use Firefox.

My real PC runs on Linux; Kubuntu

The programs I run in Linux are Gimp when I need to do some real image fixing. Skype when I "talk" to friends and digiKam to organize, geotag and sharping my images. Then of course OpenOffice sometimes, Bluefish if I feel like doing some html edits and Kate for simple text editing :)

Another Linux user here, Ubuntu to be exact. I also have a older, slower laptop which has now been introduced to Puppy Linux. I suppose Linux can be recommended as software also although I think it is doing it an injustice to refer to it as mere software :)

I have been involved with Linux since 1998 and used many different distros; Slackware, SuSe, Red Hat, Mandrake, Knoppix etc. But since Ubuntu/Kubuntu came I'm really impressed  Now it's really easy to use, and the Live-CD is a bless!! And because of Wine there is a way to use Windows apps as well (many of them, anyway).

Because of all the Open Source projects, the potential for Linux are still rising day by day 8)

I use Mozilla Firefox for internet browsing. I have really enjoyed Faststone Image Viewer which resizes images so easily for posting! I learned about that program on the Stew. I use Microsoft Office frequently. Tried open office and it messed up my PC. Probably something I did wrong when downloading it. MS office is expensive but my son gave me the program for a Christmas present. I love Avast antivirus! It is realtime protection and has alerted me several times when I attempted to click on a page from a Google search which could have infected my computer. It's free too! :stew1:

    Favorite software:
Excel although I am used to an older version and am trying to get used to the Enterprise 2007 version.

PhotoImpact from ULead (who has now been acquired by Corel) and Paint Shop Pro came with the laptop and again trying to become comfortable with it. Unfortunately Ulead's GIF editor does not work with Vista.

Puzzle Master which is an excellent time waster. Turns any image into a jigsaw puzzle.
