Some of our zinnias had gone to seed, so we cut off the flower heads and brought them inside. After patiently picking off the dry petals, the seeds were broken off the center and put into jars. There are still lots of flowers out there, so there will be more seeds to harvest. Oh, goody . . . . If anyone wants to plant the back 40 acres in zinnias, I know where you can get the seed!
Ha ha ha… Oh me, oh my Jane. What a sight that would be, though. I think that it is nifty that you are saving those seeds. You may get a new hybrid. Wouldn’t that be something.
Zinnias are one of my favorites! Mine are growing, but no flowers yet. The season here is a bit later, plus I got off to a late start.
Zinnias are a fav flower to grow. They continue to add new lil florets all summer til frost. Can’t wait to see all your zinnias. They make wonderful dried flowers for arrangements..last years zinnias.
