I'm in the process of making cakes for graduation. Ds loves carrot cake. Well, that's not the best choice for the big cake, so I made him a small one with the school he's attending in the fall. This was my first time doing a buttercream transfer, and I must say that's a pretty slick technique I'll be using again!

Thanks everyone! Got the "big" cake done today. I designed several different versions and let ds & friends vote, and this is what they chose. LC is their school logo.

Gee Piano Lady . . . you are really artistic with those cakes! Do you have a cake business? If not . . . you should. Not everyone can do this. The buttercream icing sounds yummy! I love the top left hand corner of the big cake. Your cakes are very lovely!

Laughing When I saw the top one, I thought: "Where are the cakes?" They look like banners, I applaud your skill. Very Happy

Thanks everyone. Post party results: carrot cake is the big winner, it got devoured and then they settled for chocolate. Next time I'll make a huge carrot cake and be done with it!
