This is my cantalope patch. There are 3 plants it there.

This is the biggest one I have, about the size of a baseball.

I plant them on a fence line and let the grass grow deep on the back side and the front after a while as when they are ripe they will drop in soft grass and not bruise them at all.Good growing Capt and the picture is great.

I don't remember and I think I used the last of the seeds and threw away the packet. We have been buying some Indiana melons that have been huge. The last one was the size of a soccer ball and the meat was almost 3" thick. The next one we get, I am going to save some of the seeds and try growing them.

Nice melon! I love cantalope! The melons here are so small its not worth it to even buy them. Their only about the size of a softball.

Looking good CK but I honestly thought there were more than just three plants in there.

Such lovely mellons you have there, never thought of putting them in a cage, we'll have to try that sometime.

I have five plants from some seeds that Glenda sent me. They aren't very big yet. I guess I need to feed them something. I saved some seeds from a big melon we bought last week. It's too late to plant anything else this year I think. I guess I should have dr put up something for them to grow on. Dooley

Your patch is doing well Capt. I have 1 melon almost the size of a baseball. I hope it ripens and I get to eat it. I haven't had much luck getting them to ripen here the last few years.
