Hi all newby here, just got our first allotment, digging it over at the moment, finding bindweed so taking a long time to dig out. We have a 22'x 8' greenhouse that is in need of some TLC, looks like thats going to be a summer project, it is actually 3 greenhouses fastened together, I think we my use one end for a potting shed then we can use the glass for the panes that are broken.

    Cheers

    Coopes

ps anyone let me know how to place a pic on here.[/img]

Hi there Coopes and a warm welcome to our forums from West Lothian in Scotland. I think your idea of making a potting shed out of one end of your greenhouse is a great idea. :-D Good luck with getting rid of the dreaded bindweed.

Your allotment looks like a good sized one Coopes. Those greenhouses will certainly come in handy. You've certainly put a lot of work into it already. Do keep us updated with your progress won't you?

Hi all, Eileen the greenhouses in the pic, the big long one on the right hand side is mine. My allotment stops at the lefthand side where the others are. I didn't want people to think I was greedy......lol

You will Netty, if I can get it prepared in time lot of work to do digging the damn bindweed up. I have just built a new door for the shed at the back of the greenhouse, at least the tool will be safe now, also got plans for a compost heap, bit to damp to dig here today.

Hi there Coopes. I have 2 allotments in sunny Essex and managed to get a couple of hours on mine today before the rain came. We also have masses of bindweed, horsetail, nettles, brambles, docks...oh the list goes on! My biggest battle at the moment is with creeping buttercup. Drives me insane!

Having a shed is a must, not only somewhere to store your tools, but somewhere to hide as the rain come lashing down in the height of summer ;) .

I love my allotments and look forward to seeing more pictures of your progress through the seasons.
