Can I transplant a rose bush and crepe myrtle tree now?

    Hi do you all think it would be ok to replant a rose bush and a crape myrtle tree now to another location.

    Margie,
    Since you are in Indiana, and winter is approaching, I'd do it immediately or wait until spring. By immediately, I mean by mid-September.
    It would help to know how big the rose and the crepe myrtle are. If they are big, well-established plants with a big root ball, I'd wait until spring. If they are recently planted (say, within the last two years) it will be possible but not easy to dig them and transplant them.
    Perhaps someone in your gardening region can give you better advice.

    Posted here for Margie.......

    They are both small the crape myrtle is about 3 ft. tall and the rose is about 2 ft. But the crape myrtle has gotten to big for were it is and so has the rose.
