My hubby's grandmother passed in May, 1997. I asked for some of her cotton aprons when her home was being emptied and started putting together this quilt. I had only enough fabric to make two of these, one for my FIL (she was his mother) and one for my SIL .... but we have several of the quilts she made so that's good.

Thanks Cheryl. I used to have a book with over 1000 quilt block patterns and almost every theme you could think of was represented,..that's where those blocks came from. I used that book all the time, I loved putting together themes like this one.

The only hassle with those blocks is that the block sizes ranged from 8" to 12" so there had to be a lot of finagling and white fabric insets to make them all fit together.

That is lovely. I have a book or two on quilt patterns, but so far have not made any of them. There are several I have marked to make some day. :stew1:

One of my projects is to remake the quilts I have since many of them are quite worn, and some tattered. I thought I would use them to make new quilts for my kids.
