The Five-Countries Holiday - Part Seven - Final

Category: Ramblings | Posted: Sun Aug 02, 2009 8:26 am

Well, after we reluctantly left Holland we decided it was time to play. The girls had been very good during our visit, so as a reward we went to BonBon-land. There was a large crowd by the entrance:

When we finally got inside there were lots of fun things to do. We just started on the first and went from there.

I'd look like that turtle too if I had to swirl round and round all day:

The rail bikes up high:

The cobra tower. I went up there, and suddenly we were back down again. That was actually fun:

We went for a little "Round the world"-boat trip:

Bad croc!

There was also a huge house with little doll displays. Everything was so neat:

Danish Guards:

After this we went up to Helsingør, didn't get a parking ticket but it was close, slept one night in Sweden, crossed the border to Norway, spotted a moose cow with twins grazing by the main road, visited an aunt and uncle by Norway's biggest lake and then finally got home to an overgrown garden and some very colourful veggie patches:

Oh, it was so good to be home! Thanks for tagging along as I've tried to find out where we have been and what we've been doing.

You are one courageous woman Droopy!! You'd never have got me up on that cobra tower for love nor money. SCAREY!!!!

Bet the kids had a whale of a time on those rides though and must have slept like logs after all that fun.

It's great to be away but it's also soooo nice to return home to your own bed isn't it?

Well, that park looks like something that kids would enjoy....alot.. SAo many rides.

Well your garden looks good to me. You weren't unhappy to see that, were you???
Are there any pumpkin flowers on that vine?

Well, there really is no place like home, is there?
....glad you were here though. ;-)

Droopy your garden looks great untended for more than 3 weeks. Mine would have been totally dead with no rain in that time. We try not to take long trips in the spring and summer because of that.

All the photos show that you all had a great vacation. So where are you going next year?

It is always interesting to me to see how other countries portray the American west.

Well, Eileen, there were plenty of rides I didn't take, but some I had to be on because the youngest was to small to go on her own. Needs must etc.

Sjoerd, we were glad to be there too. There are flowers on the pumpkin vines, and a couple of small pumpkins have started to develop. I hope the temps won't drop now. Maybe we'll have our own pumpkins as halloween decor this year.

Toni, our garden had lots of rain while we were away. I don't like to leave for a long time during summer, but that's when the holiday is, so it's another case of "needs must".

We don't know where we'll be next summer. It depends on lots of things. We'd like to go to Greece again, but nothing's decided.

I'm so sorry I didn't snap any overviews in Legoredo, Lego's Western town. I think you'd have a good laugh at that.

That would be so nice, Droopy. The children will enjoy making the jack-o-lanterns...and we all will enjoy seeing them.

Thanks for taking us along. It was fun :)

Oh boy, my kids would have loved Bon bon land! My son is a bit of a stunt man and the scarier the ride the better! I wouldn't have gone on that Cobra Tower! As great as vacations can be, there is still no place like home :)

What a whirlwind trip! I'm afraid I'd leave my stomach up in the top of that tower, but of course kids have no fear. What a time they must have had and will remember forever. I identify with the feeling of coming home. There's no place like home as Dorothy said.

Nice to have you with me. :) Netty, you should see the rides we didn't take because of the very long lines by them. I'm secretly very happy about that, since I would have had to go on two of those and I really, really dislike them.

Coming home is good, but we felt like we needed a holiday after this holiday. *lol*

I have never liked rides even when I was young.I get sick if I try to ride them.My kids loved them.I'm glad you all had a fun vacation and returned back home safe and sound.I sure enjoyed your vacation.Your garden is really doing great.

Bon-Bon Land looks like fun. There's something kind of cool about being "scared" on rides. I have throughly enjoyed seeing your vacation. Can't wait to see where we will go next year! Your garden looks happy to see you home.

Thank you. We're still sort of "holiday-shocked" due to everything we saw and experienced. But the normal days are closing in, fortunately, and I'm not really sorry for that.
