'Mme Sancy de Parabere and Rose de Rescht'

Category: Roses and Garden | Posted: Fri Jun 19, 2009 9:02 pm

Ive tried labeling the rose pictures, so will see how they come out..

Mme Sancy de Parabere is a boursault rambler with delicate beauty and a moderate rose fragrance, sweet but light. Im trying it out for a couple of years in hopes that it gets fairly large for me, I know it wont be huge here in my zone, I had to prune off about 6 - 8 inches of the skinniest canes, but it still left 4-5 feet overwintered, so will give it one more year.. I hope it works.

Rose de Rescht overwintered well for my move in a pot, but the actual rose flowers are the smallest Ive ever seen them, they arent huge to start with. Lovely damask tones on this one, during the cool part of the year and its first flush, very dependable, I find it to lose some of this nice damask in the hottest part of the summer on its second scattered flush. Fairly hardy in zone five with usual tip damage.

I like the look of both of your roses. Mme Sancy de Parabere is a lovley loose petalled variety and Rose de Rescht is also very attractive with it's tightly packed flower heads.
