A Cuckoo wasp.

The cuckoo wasps are parasites, laying their eggs in the nests of other wasps and bees. They have a very distinctive brilliant metallic green-blue colour.

Scaeva pyrastri. Hover fly.

There are quite a number of hover flies with some great markings. This is Scaeva pyrastri. Again, all the insects were taken in the garden.

Placopsis gelida, Bulls eye lichen.

Another lichen that somehow manages to grow on solid rock. This one is called, Placopsis gelida, the Bulls eye lichen.

Ramalina menziesii, Fishnet lichen.

This is one of those lichens that hangs from the trees. Ramalina menziesii, the Fishnet lichen. There are several of this type of lichen. I'm trying to mix the lichens up a little.
