Continuation from - Up-potting toms. (gardenstew.com) I started with five seedlings but only four can be up-potted because one of it only have a pair of cotyledon missing the bud. The other two is still not tall enough yet for the new grow pot, maybe in the next couple of days. Today I decided by myself that it is time to repot my toms again following the tips provided from my last posting Up-potting toms. The roots a plenty from the two seedling that are ready for the up-potting. I wanted to do it 2 days ago but one of the two larger toms suffered a severe bending of the main stem from the very strong wind just before a storm. I had to prop it up to help it to recover Today I checked it and it is able to stand on its own so I decided to up-pot them. First I trimmed all the extra leaves and left only two of them. I was a little nervous doing all this. For the first one I had a slight problem and it was quite messy because it is my very first time. The second one was a breeze because I already had one experience Done! Now to prepare the beds for the transplant into the ground.
KK—. Those toms are looking good mate. It looks like you are right on schedule. I liked the thickness of the stems. Stem thickness and length are the two things I look at to help me decide when to plant my plantlets on. I still have not planted my tom seeds yet. I cannot plant them out until the middle of May, so I have to be patient. Anyhow, well done you.
Thank you all I guess I am only a quarter way on my journey Thank you Sjoerd, mid-May will be here in a jiff. I guess I am lucky that I can plant all year round. Thanks Netty. Thank you Melody, I still have a long way to go. Yes I have a strange one there, anyway I am letting it grow to see what will happen to it. Thanks Pacnorwest
