I went to see a possible new house today. I also bought two fruit trees to put in the garden of the house ( they were on sale, I couldnt resist !)in which I now live. I thought more about the whole house-moving garden conundrum... its just not black and white. Sometimes we have to relocate, but making my environment more beautiful and my piece of the earth better is just the way I live.

I just can't stop working in the garden because I think I may need to move house.

It's a shame you can never take the whole garden with you but you should be able to bring more than a few items along to it. I know a few members here have been through the moving-house-leaving-garden-behind stress. You wouldn't be alone Rosie.

I think that you can take the memories, which is the best bit. When I moved to Ireland from NY, obviously I couldn't take plants with me, but I bought and planted the same plants that my wonderful elderly neighbor had given me bits of in NY. Those plants still remind me of her.
