Jake the Wonder Dog!Well, Jake has had his first serious altercation with a dog the size of Godzilla! Jake is quite small and well is just as friendly as they come. We are moving as you know and as I was carrying boxes in to the house and he was outside sniffing the new property of course. There was a huge dog lazing around the area and well, I didn't give it a first thought but should have. Jake was almost killed. He has 5 gashes on both sides of his back and a fist size tumor. He won't leave the stitches in and keeps ripping them out. I've had them replaced 2 times now. He wore a cone most of the time but the minute it was off and I turned my head he ripped them out. AAAARRRRRGGGG!!!!!! How frustrating. Needless to say this has cost me a fortune in Vet bills and with moving it has really put a damper on the fixing up I wanted to do. That will have to wait. Jake is more important. I'd live in a tent before I let him get more injured. So, the dilema moves on. Jake is now wrapped in gauze and a bandana because I cannot afford anymore stitches. There isn't enough skin to lap over anyway. My poor baby is such a goon! This blog entry has been viewed 446 times

Wow! Poor Jake. I feel for the helpless ones that get hurt. Perhaps a full body wrap will help. I sure hope he gets better fast and that Godzilla is chained up!
Yep, a Full Body Wrap is certainly what he needs. He is just very high strung and it just kills him to leave it alone. As for Godzilla.....He better stay away from my place if he know what's good for him!!!
I'd try to find out who owned the dog that attacked Jake and see if they pay at least some of the vet bills!!! I hope Jake recovers quickly from his wounds as is none the worst for the savaging he got.
You need to go after the people who owns Godzilla.Even if you have to go to small claims court.
Speedy recovery to brave Jake. I feel so sorry for him. If a loose dogs attacks another dog here, it's straight to the police to file a report. If the dog bites a human, the dog can be put down if the person files a complaint. I hope the big dog's owners are sensible people.
I would love to find that dog and its owners. I have driven around the neighbor hood several time and cannot seem to spot him. It's pretty tough on ol' Jake. He'd never harm a fly. Jake turned 9 this last May 6th.
