What an ordeal

Category: Current Garden Project | Posted: Mon Aug 04, 2008 3:24 pm

Hello All!
Well, the gardening is moving right along. I have been super busy working at the Trailer and at the new (old) house. I got more plants in this weekend. I bought some beautiful Stargazer Lilies for $.50 each and got 6 pots with 2 in them. What a steal!!!
They are in the ground. I finished putting the brick in and the daylilies out front. I also put up the privicy (sp) out back and it's really taking shape. Pictures will follow soon. I"ll be glad when this is all finished and I can get back on here regular like.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!!!
Marsha

Category: Current Garden Project | Posted: Sun Jul 06, 2008 12:03 am

Hey EVeryone!!!!
I hope you are all wonderful! I'm getting all moved in and settled. This coming week I took off work so I could go out to the trailer to finish painting and clean the carpet. After that, I'm DONE!!!! At least there. LOL
Anyway, Here are a couple of pictures I've promised. I have to change all the pictures from bmp to jpeg. What a job because I've taken a ton of them. But I wanted to get some on here. These are before pictures and once I get them on I'll post the after.
Miss ya. I'll be back on this week. I'll make the time. I sure do miss being on here regular like I was.
See ya soon!

Okay that didn't work. I'll try this......

You can see this good if you view it as a slide show. I'll get more on this week.

Jake the Wonder Dog!

Category: Miscellanous | Posted: Wed Jun 25, 2008 3:52 pm

Well, Jake has had his first serious altercation with a dog the size of Godzilla!
Jake is quite small and well is just as friendly as they come.
We are moving as you know and as I was carrying boxes in to the house and he was outside sniffing the new property of course. There was a huge dog lazing around the area and well, I didn't give it a first thought but should have. Jake was almost killed. He has 5 gashes on both sides of his back and a fist size tumor. He won't leave the stitches in and keeps ripping them out. I've had them replaced 2 times now. He wore a cone most of the time but the minute it was off and I turned my head he ripped them out. AAAARRRRRGGGG!!!!!! How frustrating.
Needless to say this has cost me a fortune in Vet bills and with moving it has really put a damper on the fixing up I wanted to do. That will have to wait. Jake is more important. I'd live in a tent before I let him get more injured.
So, the dilema moves on. Jake is now wrapped in gauze and a bandana because I cannot afford anymore stitches. There isn't enough skin to lap over anyway. My poor baby is such a goon!

Whew! What a Relief it is!

Category: Moving | Posted: Wed Jun 25, 2008 3:08 pm

Hello all!
I'm finally only doing one job again here at work and finally have time to get back on here. YIPPPPEEEE!!!!!
I am just about completely moved. I have before and after pictures and now only need to download them to Webshots so I can show off how hard I've been working. I work all day here and go to the farm house and work 4 or 5 more hours. I'm exausted! My flowerbeds are finally looking better. I put in some Hollyhocks on Monday and a sage plant. I also planted 5 Tomatoe plants. I'm very happy that things are moving right along. I have requested a week off in July, the 7th through the 11th and will go to the trailer and finish cleaning up, painting and then shampoo the carpet and I'll be ready to put it up for sale! Oh What a happy day that will be!
There is still much to do outside as I have been concentrating on the inside for so long. Sorry I haven't been able to get on here lately.
I hope everyone has a great week!

STill working

Category: Current Garden Project | Posted: Thu Jun 05, 2008 4:07 pm

I'm still working on the house. I finally got the usb cord for the camera and then left the camera at my sister's house 2 hours away. YIKES!!!! Scatter brain for sure.
I will get it this weekend and let everyone see what I've been doing that has kept me away for so long.
Love you guys!

OMG, I got lost

Category: Miscellanous | Posted: Thu May 22, 2008 6:11 pm

I promise I didn't fall off the face of the earth. I have been so terribly busy with work and the cleaning of the new house. Whew! I'm whipped! and so far to go too!
I've taken a ton of pictures and can't find my usb cord to my camera still. I did finally order one last week and it came and was not the right kind. I had to send it back. I then called the company and ordered one from them and wow! It's expensive. But I need it and want to put some pictures up so you can see the progress I've made.
I've really missed being on here and feel like the long lost child.
Have a happy Memorial weekend all!
Marsha

And the Work Begins!

Category: Moving | Posted: Mon May 12, 2008 2:17 pm

Well, I am for sure absolutely moving! I spent the weekend transplanting my ferns and hosta, hydrangea, columbine. I took a bunch of pictures and I will get them on here asap!
I am not going to work in the house anymore until they fumigate it. I asked the church if they would do that and they said of course. Yipppee!
I planted some annuals in pots and put them out and it looks real nice.
I dug up the garden where the plants all came from and re-seeded it for grass. Then it rained. I am sure it will look real nice when I do put the trailer up for sale. I'll be working at the house every night after my job and hopefully get it done quick and be able to move in. The house is only 1 mile from my work and that will save me a bunch on gas. Gas here is $3.83. That's unbelieveable for us!
But I know that's cheap compared to other countries. I am going to ride my bike to work once I move. How wonderful it will be.

Tilling and Planting Finally

Category: Current Garden Project | Posted: Tue May 06, 2008 8:35 pm

Oh My Gosh! I finally get to till the kids garden here at the Treatment Center. I'm so excited. I'll have to do it by myself since the kids are so busy with groups and classes. I'm going to do it after work on Thursday night, and we'll Lord willing and the creek don't rise, plant on Saturday.
I'm just beside myself over this. The plants that we seeded indoors are going to be so happy to go into the ground. I hope I have hardened off enough. I'll get the other seeds we need this week and we'll have a ball! At least I will. Hehehehe!!!
I really hope these kids get into this. I'll be really hurt if they don't. There are a few very few that really do like it so I will concentrate on those few!

Digging

Category: Current Garden Project | Posted: Mon May 05, 2008 1:54 pm

I am cleaning out my current Hosta Garden and getting ready to transplant to the new house. I don't actually get the "word" to move until tomorrow but that's okay. I've already pulled up all the brick that I've used for edging and taken it out to the house and raked up the old mulch. I haven't dug up any plants yet just in case they tell me "NO" I can't move in. I don't think that's going to happen but.....well, you know.
I'm leaving behind some Hosta and ferns along with plenty of Iris and Daylilies. I'll take some but I probably should leave something behind. I don't actually own the land just the trailer and I'm not suppose to take anything. But I figure, I bought these plants or they were given to me and I'm the one who worked hard to get the gardens lovely so I'm taking most of them with me. I'm only dismantleing one garden I'll leave the other 4. I'm reseeding the one and giving it back to the lawnmower. The others I will leave alone. I have roses and many other things in there. There's just so much shade and well, there's not a lot at the House. I think I'll take my roses tho and my Mock Orange.
It's getting closer and I'm getting more nervous. Yikes, I hope this happens for me. It would be so lovely!
