Successes and Challenges in Seed Starting Spring 08

Category: Seed Starting | Posted: Sat May 10, 2008 11:56 am

I got my training seed starting when I worked at Brooklyn Botanic Garden's Education greenhouse. Decided to try at home in my new place in Winston Salem Nc where I have a much sunnier option than in my apt. in Brooklyn, NY.

So far, I've gotten some success but my failure to label properly and my emergency trip out of town (had to pass along to my sister for care) gave me special challenges. Still I've gotten the following to sprout well:

lima beans, moon flowers, larkspur, etc.

Have problems with the zinnias and sunflowers so will direct sow.

Will come back here with progress report when I actually get some flowers.
