Overrun with Cherries
My husband picked up a 12' stepladder on craigslist so he could really get up into the cherry trees. So I manned the 6' ladder, and he the 12'. 84 pounds of pitted cherries later, I had to ask him to please stop picking cherries! My Norpro cherry pitter worked like a charm once again this year. Looking forward to a winter of cherry pies, crisps, sorbets?, cherries in cooking, cherry jam....need ideas!

I love cherries!! My trees don't produce nearly the amount yours do. I doubt I'd know what to do with 84 pounds though.
When you make a cherry pie next Winter, I'll bet you will think of being on those ladders and how much work it was. That's called sweet memories. :~)
My parents used to make something called 'Cherry Bounce' with their extra cherries. It wasn't as strong as Kirsch, but you get the idea.
Sounds wonderful! I have yet to get any cherries from my bing cherry tree. I've had it for several years, but any cherries it makes the birds take. :(
Love this time, when the cherries are ready!! My boss has two trees and we can pick as many as we like. Can't wait to get some and bake some cherry crisp. Ummm!
