STORMY IN ORLANDO TODAY.

Category: Garden, Flowers and Citrus in Orlando, FL | Posted: Thu Mar 31, 2011 7:22 pm

Our weather here in Southwest Orange County has been rain, high winds and some places have experienced tornadoes. There is plenty of lightning here and hail in other areas. We have been watching the television news programs as they predicted where the worst of the storms were heading. Our lawns, plants and trees can use the water.

My three biggest tomato plants have blooms and small tomatoes starting to grow. My one pepper plant has two small peppers and lots of blooms. These plants are all growing in two grow boxes. The lettuce is growing very nice in two grow boxes.

I enjoy going out every morning to see how much the plants have grown. The other day I was weeding and pulled up a plant that turned out to be a stinging nettle weed. Did my hand ever hurt. I was wearing no gloves and my hand hurt from 10 AM to the next morning. I hope to never see another weed like that again.

Happy gardening!

Getting stung by nettles was a daily occurrence as a playing child :)

Stay safe!

We are getting into the months where we have severe weather here in Michigan. It's not fun to watch the weather and wonder if we will be next. Hope your hand feels better.

Hi DirtyDigits,
I measured the grow boxes and they are 29 inches long, 13 1/2
inches wide and 10 1/2 inches deep. They are made of plastic.
As long as you add water almost daily, the plants really grow
fast.

Hi ptremonti,
My Mother and Uncle were born in Michigan. I would enjoy reading about your state, your weather and what you grow. I hope you get some good weather this spring.
