Category: GARDEN ROOMS | Posted: Wed Apr 18, 2007 6:36 pm

Yes their here digging up our front lawn today to put in new gas lines, for new houses across the street. We are now turning more into a neighborhood,so much for country life, even with 40 acres, you can hide from them.
Today weve been out working to make a bed for all those azealas, theyve been in the garden shed till now, its totally safe to put them out and alot of them are blooming.(frost didnt get them)hahahaha....well any ways, going back outside..write later.....

Will Kat get a bigger kitchen?

Category: GARDEN ROOMS | Posted: Wed Apr 18, 2007 1:03 am

This evening a carpenter came over from across the street, where their building new homes to talk with us for a minute on adding on to the house. the kitchen is on the back side of house, the 2 story side. The roof is complicated from the sunroom addition upstairs for us to figure out by ourselves.
This guy wasnt much help since we found out he was just maybe a trimmer or something, and we needed to talk to someone else.
We have been going back 'n forth over this subject of an addition.
The room below would be added on where we planned our 2nd pergola to go,not a major deal.
But it would give me space, a real sewing room, not the dinningroom ,that my sewing machine is in now.

closer pic 2006

the patio will be gone if we do,will have to remove all bricks further out.I also want a porch put on,in a L shape, like a old victorian house put on...fingers crossed!!!

The suns out, you know where i'll be...

Category: GARDEN ROOMS | Posted: Sun Apr 15, 2007 3:31 pm

Yup,out there enjoying it today. Im gonna haul all my cushions and stuff out of the house! Thank god i need the room. If the ground wasnt so wet id plant all those azealas we bought, they've been in the garden shed since bad weather was coming, they maybe blooming in there.
The quilt will be put off for today, maybe it will become a night project now, after dark...lol.

I picked up some other material and bought it at 1.00 a yard, for future projects,i hate when a idea hits ya to sew something up and no material to be found ,so im ready just in case.
Hope you all have a great day,and NEW ENGLAND makes it thru all this weather...Be safe brother of mine!
hugs
Kat

A quilting we will go///

Category: GARDEN ROOMS | Posted: Sat Apr 14, 2007 5:27 am

Tonight Rons cousin Judy and her hubby came by,and i think she helped boost my spirits and a beer believe it or not.Later after they left, Me and Ron went to walmart where i bought several yards of material to start a new quilt. The 1st of the year we painted our bedroom a lovely chocolate color and the comforter we bought last fall, just doesnt match perfect now so i was gonna make a quilt for the bed and now im getting it going. I cut out several squares tonight and started piecing it to see how it will look and its gonna be lovely!!..My mood now is excited!..smiling..
Tomorrow ill post a few pics of the start of it..
Any ways, all, thanks for the kind words and they were very appreciated!!
Good night!
Kat..

Tore between to places

Category: GARDEN ROOMS | Posted: Fri Apr 13, 2007 2:53 am

In between loving this place, i also hate it.I feel like a deserter not being home. Six hours is just to far from folks and family.Ron knows im not happy and he is content here. His place is paid off and he grew up here. So he has no want to move.I cant say i blame him, but i try to think what i'd do if it was him in my perdicament.
So im depressed,if i leave it will be alone and are relationship over.
Sorry, guess its my vent night, this is a blog right,so if it bore's ya ,you can stop reading it and go to another, it wont hurt my feelings, but i have to vent,,,
Right now Rons pal is here, their drinking beer and his friend is here cause he's dealing with going to a funeral maybe if his wife's grandfather dies, and making a trip to new york, and that just made my dads problem hit home more! i cant handle them getting drunk right now so,sorry again!
I MAY CALL MY BOYS SOONER THAN I PLANNED NOW..

****The perfect place for a Koi pond****

Category: GARDEN ROOMS | Posted: Thu Apr 12, 2007 3:57 pm

Its not where i'd like it to be,i'd like it over near the garden shed ,buts its to shady.but since garden ponds need 4 to 6 hours of sunlight to grow plants that flower in them that wont happen..Also they say koi and plants dont mix, well i had both before and the koi were distructive, pulling my plants out of their pots(big mess) at times.
But koi are so friendly! they say guppies are good to keep mosquito larva down, but from my brother experience with them in a fish tank many years ago, their great for making way to many babies.

The sun is trying to come out,in between clouds. I sure hope it stays out eventually today.

Ive read several articles on water gardens and some seem scary as far as size , about not putting rocks in the pond, and so forth, whether galvanized stock tanks will rust over time and so forth. The kind of articles written to lure you away from building one, thats not a kit.
Guess i'll just do the best i can and hope for the best!

Dont know if ill be outside today or not ,depending on weather, keeping fingers crossed.

I have a idea

Category: GARDEN ROOMS | Posted: Thu Apr 12, 2007 12:23 am

Sitting around together last night i talked to Ron about making a water garden out of a cattle watering tub, you know those great big metal ones.We have one in our barn.(why waste it)...dig a hole and bury it in the ground..why not, i think.. I had a water garden at my old house and had koi and goldfish in it,they loved cheerios cereal.

Today is very depressing, rain ,rain and more rain!
I want outside in the sun and warmth so bad!
All ive been doing is reading all those garden magazines i bought and got depressed from them,lol..
