Likes cooler temperatures. This variety tends to be shorter lived than the species types and less likely to reproduce from rhizomes. I have read that it is a hardy perennial and also seen the seed sold as a biennial. My own experience with the Tasso varieties is that they tend to die out after five to eight years for me. I like them so well that this is my third replanting. I am still looking for the perfect micro climate in my garden where they will reproduce freely.
