some zones that are unable to grow these still may be able to grow them inside the house. I have many inside and just ordered more for color. I love dividing these and making new plants.

There's a reason Queen Palms are so cheap! If you can grow a nice healthy one, you'll be sawing off dead palm fronds every month until you can't reach them anymore. As one frond at the bottom of the canopy dies, a new one is sent out at the top. When this palm blooms, it bears a large infloresence that attracts hornets, wasps, and bees. Shortly after dropping the infloresence, fruit will begin to grow on the same branch creating a rotting, sticky mess under the tree. If the tree has a magnesium malnourishment, it is prone to "frizzle-top." This is when the new palm fronds are shorter than normal, shrivled, and often light green or yellow. My opinion: spend the extra money and get a better type of palm!

A very low maintenance, tropical plant for Zone 10 and south. Plant a few in a line to completely block out any unsightly view. Also does well as a houseplant if left in a bright area.

a super easy plant to grow in my zone 10 garden. Both in pots and in the ground, these plants love the sun and a little water.

Planted in semi-dry conditions in full sun brings out the lovely silver-blue bloom-colour best.

A lovely wild orchid that smells strongly of violets in the evening to attract moths.
