Information given is based on cultivation in coastal mid-Norway. It's growing in full sun and in fairly well-drained, acidic soil. As the plant grows, the spread will become wider. Spread figure is given on basis of one root "eye".

Very drought and heat tolerant. May be pruned year round to encourage denser growth and more flowers. Transplant in the winter months. In cooler climates it may be deciduous but in warmer/hotter climates will be evergreen and possibly bloom year round

Crape Myrtle flower buds are not poisonous, in case your child should decide to snack on them. This according to the Poison Control operator I called in a panic several years ago.

A tropical plant commonly used as a houseplant. Leaves are variegated with white, cream, yellow and are very decorative. It is toxic and can cause cause swelling if ingested. May also cause a rash if sap comes in contact with skin.
