Overwintering can be difficult as the rhizomes are thin and ropy. Good to use for crossing out and in for hew cultivars.

Very difficut to overwinter in less than tropical conditions. Would appear to prefer continual growing conditions.

This is one tree you don't want to hug. Thorns grow from the trunk and branches. Climb at your own risk.

It likes the same growing conditions as a Christmas or Thanksgiving Cactus.

If you are into Asian cuisine, it is a must have in the garden. As a drink, the taste is uniquely pleasant. Great with ice tea too!

It sticks to your socks, gloves, skin, sleeves, everything. Looks pretty when in bloom but looks are so deceiving.

Large blooms with wider trumpet open a very pale yellow cream, then quickly become snowy white. Variety developed in the late 1930's and has become a mainstay in my garden. Very hardy and mulitply in my region for years of pleasure (planted mine 25 years ago and they have survived where several other varieties have not.) One of the mid-early daffodils to bloom.

The photo I entered was after several weeks of torrential rains that had beaten the blooms down when they were first opening. Usually they are very upright. They were still perfect for cutting.

This little plant is quite the eye catcher, growing in duff under mature douglas firs in our region. Would like to move some from our little piece of woods into our town gardens, but haven't braved it yet.

One of my favorites. Easy to grow, easy to propagate. I cut mine back quite a bit to keep it small--it doesn't seem to mind.
