Invasive in US. Overly shady with broad leaves and believed to root-kill, too. Easy to identify by drop of white sap at the base of pulled leaf stem and wide branching habit (instead of better Y form).

Definitely will spread around and a fast grower. Can be cut back severely to keep in check. Butterfly magnet.

I find this to be too aggressive and less drought tolerant than the Allegheny. I have proof in the 2010 NE US summer drought. Otherwise, a common cover that is more attractive than vinca.

Far better choice in the NE US (where it is native) than the Japanese variety. More drought tolerant.

Pretty fast grower. Can bloom twice in one year under good growth conditions.

Very interesting deciduous "evergreen". Soft, delicate, 2-inch needles drop after turning a rusty gold. Sensitive to deer antler rubbing, though.

I love this tree. Slow growing (at least in my north east sun location) and open pyramidal with no annoying cones. Base is roughly 2/3rd of height. Beautiful in winter. Highly regarded and recommended.

Invasive. Destroy it, if found. These are hard to eradicate, so get the roots, too.

I grow this fast growing vine as an annual in containers. I like the dark color, and the way it contrasts with other flowers.
