Does this plant actually bloom? I've never seen one that did.

A lovely oregano that looks very good in the border. The yellow colour is rich and stands out.

This lovely hosta has big leaves with a variegation that really looks like somebody spilt milk on them.

I have also grown it outdoors and it lasted several seasons here in zone 5. It did not seem to self seed for me at all.

A very pretty leaf plant from the Mediterranean regions that adds colour to the border the entire season because of the red veins in the green leaves. It does, however, self-seed too well and the flower stems should be removed to keep the plant nice and full. The blooms are not of particular interest. The young leaves are edible and taste like spinach or chard, but gets too tough very quickly.

I have grown it outside without particular shelter for two winters, with temperatures down to -10C or 14F, and I know it grows further north in even colder winters.

A funny, little bulb that has brown buds that turn into fragrant, yellow flowers.

Poisonous! As few as 2 berries can cause cramps, headaches, vomiting, bloody diarrhea and dizziness.

Roseberry and Rosalyne are two new hardy, day-neutral, red flowering strawberry plants developed in Canada. Very prolific flowering and lots of runners/stolons to create new plants. I love the color and they bloom until frost. I believe that I have Rosalyne which has large blooms, but fruit is very seedy. The red blooming varieties are marketed as ornamental ground covers.

One of my favorite clematis. Plant has numerous and continuous big colorful blooms for many months. It blooms early with the columbines and French lilac. Will self root if vines hit the ground and has reproduced new plants for around the yard and for friends.

Have a small yard but would like an evergreen tree? This is a small, very fine needled spruce. It is very slow growing-2 to 4 inches a year not getting taller than 15 feet. Nice structure for winter gardens. This tree makes a lovely outdoor Christmas tree that probably won't out-grow its space. Need to watch for branches that revert back to larger needles/branches and keep the reverted branches trimmed out.
