Downy Woodpecker.
The downies stay all year round here and this gives me plenty of opportunities to get a picture. Here is the male, with the red on its head, which the female lacks.

He's a sweetie. :D I like woodpeckers, but we haven't got many around here.
Our male woodpeckers have a red cap on their heads too and red around the rump. Our females don't have the red head either.
