Summer plumage Dunlins.

Category: My Garden Birds | Posted: Fri May 15, 2009 5:45 am

Been busy taking images of marine life, seaweeds, shells and sea snails etc. so I missed a little bit here. This is a shot I took today down at the lagoon, the first time I have seen these birds in what must be summer as they are in summer plumage, The smaller birds are Western Sandpipers.

I have a soft spot for water birds. These have a pretty efficient looking beak!

We have Dunlins here and they're very hard to spot against the sand/pebbles on the shoreline. You did extremely well to get such a good shot of them Kildale - it's more than I've managed to do.
