Summer plumage Dunlins.
Been busy taking images of marine life, seaweeds, shells and sea snails etc. so I missed a little bit here. This is a shot I took today down at the lagoon, the first time I have seen these birds in what must be summer as they are in summer plumage, The smaller birds are Western Sandpipers.

They are very pretty young birds.I have never seen this bird I don't think.Thats a great photo.
I have a soft spot for water birds. These have a pretty efficient looking beak!
We have Dunlins here and they're very hard to spot against the sand/pebbles on the shoreline. You did extremely well to get such a good shot of them Kildale - it's more than I've managed to do. Login or register to leave a comment. |
