Water For The ChickensI've been wanting to get an automatic waterer for the chickens. Not too long ago I saw one at Rural King. It was simply a 5 gallon plastic bucket with watering nipples attached to the bottom for $30.00. Being a cheapskate, I set out to build my own. I bought the nipples for $4.99 and used a bucket and float that I already had on hand. It took all of about 15 minutes to complete and works great. Great job EG! And you'll always have the satisfaction of saying it was your creation.
Wow!! I am impressed!
I thought about doing the same. I went last week to TSC and about fell over at the price of a new waterer. I came home and got out the tube of silicon glue and patched the holes in the bottom of my waterer. Where did you get the nipples? I can buy them at a chicken supply place locally but I thought the cost was a bit high ( I think 12.00 for 4 or 6 of them).
I bought mine at Rural King. It was a package of four. I've also priced them on eBay.
I didn't get them at Rural King Carolyn. I just remembered that I got them at a TSC when I visited my daughter. I was excited about it because they were marked down. They don't have them at my TSC.
I'll check the next time I am there. We have one of each, but TSC is a bit closer since we got one right in town. Yahoo! Login or register to leave a comment. |
