Archie & Max's Blog
Babes In The Wood
Category: Dogs | Posted: Thu Jun 29, 2006 10:06 pm Sorry that we haven't been around for a week or two but we've been really busy!! Nobody told us that the world is so BIG. The other day mum and dad packed us into the car and we went to the Forest of Dean, which is about twenty miles from where we live. What sights and smells. ![]() We even saw some deer, which were unfortunately too quick for dad to photograph (the poor old soul isn't as quick as he used to be). As you can see, it's a strange and wonderful place to explore - ![]() And just when Arch' thought it was safe... ![]() ...Max decided that it was a great place for play-fighting... ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry about these pics - we don't look particularly handsome when we're scrapping, but it's fun! Anyway, after all this exertion a chap needs a drink... ![]() And all too soon, it's time to go home. ![]() We've got a lot more to tell you...(although we won't mention how Archie disgraced himself at the puppy party) but you'll just have to wait. Keep on wagging Max & Archie. This blog entry has been viewed 577 times
The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Oven.
Category: Dogs | Posted: Tue Jun 13, 2006 7:46 pm It's official! We're scared. Max noticed it first... we were hanging around the kitchen, as you do, hoping that someone might drop a piece of cheese or a dollop of scrambled egg , when suddenly he - at least we think it's a he - was there, IN THE OVEN. We kid you not. They've got another dog locked in the oven! Isn't there a law about that sort of thing? Obviously they're going to cook him, but when? And when he's gone... who's next? He seems okay at the moment; he always wanders up and looks out at whichever of us is looking in. Sometimes he wags his tail, as if he's waving back at us. The strange thing is that Max is convinced that he is a dead ringer for himself, while Archie swears blind that he looks just like... Archie. Curious, indeed . ![]() Sorry about the quality of the photograph but dad took this picture from his mobile. He must have been worried about us making contact with the Dog In The Oven and obviously became nervous and not a little shaky. Either that or he'd been on the Vino Collapso again. And now, a word from our sponsor: ![]() So off we go, with the sun on our backs ![]() Come on, Arch' , keep up! ![]() NEWSFLASH: TOMORROW - 14th OF JUNE - IS THE BIG DAY. WE CAN AT LAST GO OUT. WATCH OUT WORLD!!! This blog entry has been viewed 503 times
An Eventful Evening
Category: Dogs | Posted: Fri Jun 02, 2006 8:13 pm Wednesday , May 31st was a day we'd pencilled into our diaries. Definitely not a day to look forward to; it was the second round of injections. To add insult to injury the vet insisted on looking into our ears, prodding our tums and feeling around our... well, you don't need to know all of the dreadful details but rest assured, he gave us a thorough examination. We thought that was that - after all, all a chap needs after that sort of trauma is home, bed and an early night. However, they thought otherwise. Mind you- it was a very exciting evening. What a surprise we had when the back of the car was opened and we found ourselves looking at a strange house. Strange people around, too. "Oh no," we thought, "They're going to sell us!" Nothing so drastic, fortunately; it was just a visit to the house of some of Mum and Dad's relatives. Better still, there was a nice, safe garden where we wouldn't catch anything nasty. (The vet said that we can't properly thrust ourselves upon an unsuspecting world for another two weeks!) We had a whale of a time, although Max didn't think it was quite as wonderful when he fell down the garden steps twice and belly flopped on to the lawn. He needed to sit down to get his breath back... ![]() And Max being Max, wasted no time is grabbing forty winks while he was there... ![]() Meanwhile Archie discovered that there was a pond, well stocked with fish and just waiting to be explored... ![]() All this excitement... there could be just one ending to this particular entry in our journal: two sleepy little pups... ![]() And Mum doesn't look quite awake either!
