New concept for the pond area(Water Garden)

Category: Water Garden Project | Posted: Wed Jun 01, 2011 3:21 am

Well the water garden has been replaced due to kids. The kids cracked the side of the pond so no water would stay in. So I had my husband drill holes in the bottom of it and filled it with dirt and planted the marigolds there this year. Behind it is a trellis with morning glories. They are all starting to grow I can not wait to see what it looks like when they are ready. I have also moved flowers and put them in the rocks to add some more color. There is a steel sign out there that says Live Laugh Love. I am currently looking for more sings like that. I also have a multicolored wind flower to put out but right now the wind is too strong it would break. I am looking for a solar powered spot light to put out pointing to the sign. I also have some angel statues to put out but I need to fix one of them the wings fell off. They need cleaned up and I was thinking about painting them to make them colorful. However, I have been told to keep them the white color that they are normally. I do not know what to do when it comes to them. Any ideas or input would be appreciated. As soon as I get them cleaned up I will put pictures of them to see if anyone thinks to keep them off white or make them color. Until the next time hope everyone is enjoying their gardening this year. Love looking at all the flowers and pictures. Enjoy and have fun!!!!

Getting everything done

Category: Great weekend | Posted: Sat May 28, 2011 3:59 am

I have finally been able to get out in my gardens. I have all my bulbs planted and many many seeds down. They are starting to come up now. Instead of keeping the pond with water, way too many problems, kids next door cracked the side of it, I have filled it in with dirt and am planting marigolds in it. I hope it looks as good as I am thinking it will. I have got some huge pumking seeds planted in the vegetable garden this year. I have decided to make the whole garden pumpkins and I am planting other things in my friends garden that is out at her pond. I bought some plants to spruce up my rock area and under a tree that does not get any sun. I will be taking pictures soon and posting on here. I can not wait until everything is in full bloom I believe it will look really pretty. So excited!

Not a fan of winter

Category: Winter Blogs | Posted: Mon Dec 27, 2010 3:47 am

This winter has not been a friend of mine. It hit hard and fast. I wanted to get some bulbs put in the ground but the snow came one night and it is too frozen for me to be able to do anything. I am so ready for spring to get here and to be able to do some more work outside. I have so much that needs done. However, I will be starting most of my flowers in the house this year so that they have good strong roots and grow nice and big. I am currently looking for dirt to fill in the water pond that I wanted to have. The neighbor kids broke it on the side so I am going to fill it in with dirt and put some cactuses in it and maybe a little tree. I have not been able to find one that I like yet so this is still a project in the thinking stages. I just wish it was possible to be outside doing it right now. However, without the dirt I can not move my cactuses:( . I hope everyone is having a great winter and Happy Holidays!

Figured it out

Category: Water Garden Project | Posted: Sat Jul 17, 2010 5:40 am

Hello

I have figured out what the plant or flower is that just started growing in my front flower bed. My neighbor called it a naked lady when the plant was there. She told me that the leaves die off and then all of a sudden the flowers start to grow and they are called lady fingers. I can not wait to see what they look like. I hope they are pretty. When I put the plant there I just thought it was another green plant to go with my rock area and pond. I wanted to surround the rocks with green plants. I am well on my way. I have one really big one up there and I planted a new one there a few weeks ago. However, the knew one is still blooming which makes me happy because it is really pretty orange flowers. I am not good on the names of flowers. (Sorry) I just get so excited about looking at them every day when I go out to check for weeds or to water them.

I must admit having a garden and flower beds to do what I want to do in them is an amazing thing. I can not wait to be able to buy my own home so I can really do up my yard and not feel bad about tearing up the yard. LOL. However luckily the man who owns this house does not care as long as it does not look bad. He is very happy with what I have done. The only thing I can see that may make him mad is if I move out I will be taking my pond with me so there may be a hole in the front flower bed. However, I am not even thinking about that right now.

I love my garden

Category: Veggie Garden | Posted: Fri Jul 16, 2010 4:09 am

Working in the garden is so nice. It helps releive stress and I get to eat fresh veggies. I have been eating lettuce from the garden for almost 3 weeks now. I have posted new pictures of all the gardens in my yard. I hope you all enjoy the pictures and I also found another mystery thing growing in my front flower bed. I will have to take pictures of it tomorrow and post them to see if anyone can help me figure out what it is that is growing. I hope it is another pretty flower.

I have big pumpkins growing already and I can not wait until they are orange and ready to be picked. Will try to keep updating this more now. However I just started a new job and that is keeping me busy plus I have been working in the yard and my son is keeping me busy. So I will end this for tonight and call it a night. Gotta work in the morning. Talk laters!!

A question....

Category: Questions.... | Posted: Tue Jun 01, 2010 4:04 am

Today my neighbor looked at my "mystery plant" that is now known to be a lily. I had mentioned that I planted a lily in that same garden bed last year however I pulled it out because it died not long after I planted it. The one I had put in there last year was a very pretty color of orange. I loved it. This year the new one popped up and it is white. Is there a chance that it planted itself there from the lily last year? My neighbor had told me that if I had an orange on there before it would have come back as an orange one if it planted itself there. I am so confused because there used to be a big ugly bush there and no plants. So if the lily would have been planted from the orange on why is the lily white???? I am so confused.

But other than that my gardening is going pretty good. Had to take down all my decorations because we got hit with a really bad thunderstorm today. And I have not been on here lately because it has been extremely warm and we been swimming at the pond. Also I had finals for school so was busy working on those when I was on the computer. We also had some stupid squirrels LOL!!! Two days last week a squirrel managed to take out the electricity in my neighborhood. It happened on Wednesday and Friday. It was crazy. They both got on the same transformer and blew up. Anyways I hope the rest of them are smart enough not to climb on that one, I am tired of waking up with out electricity. Plus with it being so humid here we have the aircondtioner on and when it gets shut off before I wake up, I wake up hot and stuffy. I am not really a morning person LOL. However, I need to go to bed because I have an appointment early in the morning tomorrow. YUCK! Hope to talk to you all again very soon!

Ok took the weekend off

Category: Great weekend | Posted: Mon May 24, 2010 3:09 pm

Well I did not manage to get much done this weekend. We just had a fun weekend. First we played all day Saturday and Sunday we spent the whole day out at the pond with the neighbors. And now I am sunburnt. However, since it is Monday it is back to working in the yard LOL. HOpefully I can find something to keep over my shoulders that is not too hot because I can not take any more sun on my shoulders LOL They hurt so bad right now. Well the kid is bugging to go back out side so I will have to leave an update later. Have a great Monday everyone!

Just plain out fun

Category: Great weekend | Posted: Sun May 23, 2010 4:19 am

I did not do much in the yard as for my gardens today. However, I did plant more cucumbers and lemon cucumbers. Other than that it was just a day to be outside with my son and our neighbors. We had a cook out, played on the trampoline, played in the water, played tetherball, and ended the night with a fire in the back yard. We were roasting marshmellows and had fun just laughing and talking to the neighbor people. However, tomorrow we are going to be working on the shed getting that ready for flowers to be planted and for a garage sale. Have a bunch of clothes to sort out and get ready. So tomorrow will be a busy busy busy day.

I am ready to have my beautiful yard looking the way it should. Gorgeous!

Rain Rain Go Away

Category: Setting Goals | Posted: Fri May 21, 2010 1:34 pm

It is raining and I am stuck inside away from the garden. But it kind of helps me get my house work done. I have a lot of cleaning to get done inside the house. However, I would rather be outside in the garden or working on my stone project. I want to have this all done by the time of my birthday which is a little less than a month away. Plus my friend is getting married a few days after my birthday. So I will be having a busy month of june and july. I want to be able to come home after all that and relax looking at my flowers and veggies.

I must say for having this be my first year with a veggie garden I see why people have them. They may be a lot of work but it is not stressful work. I believe this garden is my relaxing work and I truly enjoy it.

Yard work

Category: Setting Goals | Posted: Fri May 21, 2010 3:18 am

Spent most of my day behind a lawn mower or with a rake in my hand. It has been a busy day getting the grass cut and raked up so that it did not sit there and leave dead spots in the yard.

My garden is growing nicely except for some of the cucumbers. I went and bought more seeds for cucumbers incase these ones did not make it.

My stone project is underway. I have a lot more work to do ont it but I have started. However it is supposed to rain tomorrow and I will be in the house running the carpet cleaner.

The weather today was so nice I actually washed our bedding up and let it dry out in the nice breeze and sun light. I can not wait until I can always hang my clothes outside to dry. They also smell so fresh when they are dryed outside in the natural heat.

I am getting more and more excited as the days go by. Waiting for my other flowers to start to grown also waiting for my rose bush to bloom. It is teasing me right now I can tell it is close to opening up but it still has not opened all the way. It looks really pretty as it is now but I love seeing wide open roses they are so pretty. I have a bunch of buds on my rose bush which I am happy about because last year it only produced 3 roses all summer long. I blamed it on the girl that was living here that bought the bush. She would leave for a while it would bloom a rose when she would come back it would die and not produce another one until she left again. Now that she does not live here anymore it is full of buds. I am sure she would not be too happy about that one at all. Oh Well. It is making my flower bed look so pretty.

Well it is late here and I have to get an early start on cleaning the carpets and the rest of the bedding. Hope it does not rain all day long so I can enjoy being outside for a little bit at least. Have a good night. Enjoy dreams filled with flowers and butterflies!!! Good Night Garden Stew!!!!!!!!
