I got this plant as a birthday/mother's day gift from my best friend 2008. it had blooms on it at the time, the blooms lasted a couple of weeks and went away, then it rebloomed towards the fall. The flowers on mine are red and look like little roses in a way.

I am in zone 7A/borderline 7B and the one I had outside died with the first freeze last winter but has been coming back this spring.

northeast U.S.: I do leave some of this in the wilder part of my "garden". Not popular with people, but this plant does have important wildlife value. I've read deer, rodents and other small mammals browse leaves and twigs along with the berries. The berries are important to migrating birds in the fall - and more so during the winter months when foods are in short supply. Birds are partly responsible for this plant being considered aggressive, as they do a lot of the "planting".

Of the different variety of lavenders that I am lucky enough to have in my garden this has the most fragrant leaves. It is also the most suseptible to cold and has not been hardy through the last two winters that have gone to the single digits F. Will keep in pots this summer to bring in during the winter.

Deep green spotted silver leaves with long blooming blue flowers that fade to rose pink in spring. Slim long leaves. Likes moist soil.

My favorite small fern that does not out-grow its space. It grows under 1 foot with fronds that are less than an inch wide and 10" long with single row of small round leaves. Takes low humidity and hotter temperatures than some ferns.

An easy small fern inside if planted in shallow planters. Self propagates with runners (rhizomes) and spores.

Can be invasive in warm climate areas preventing regeneration of native flora

Because of its ease of propogation with spores and rhizomes can be invasive in warm climate areas keeping native plants from regenerating.
Good house plant because it can handle hot temperatures and low humidity.

As a house plant can be trained to braided trunks, and kept small (with repeated/frequent pruning) or allowed to grow into a tree. Easily manipulated. Doesn't like drafts and will shed leaves, but recovers with patience.
