Good Friday morning all. Currently -12° with strong NW winds. The temperature is dropping since this morning. Not sure the plan today, probably just laundry and baking. Have a great day all :)

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -18°C and overcast. We got lots of snow yesterday, but it was also very windy and so it is all in drifts around the yard. It was hard walking in some spots this morning. Off to skating shortly. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. What passes for winter here has returned for a few days 30's overnight and 50's daytime. All the rain so far is going south to north but way out west of us so our chances are dropping by the minute.
Surprisingly we are ending January with a tad over 3", best total my yard has had in months.

I have the morning to myself...remarkable!! Now what to do. I have already filled all the bird feeders and suet block holders. To windy and chilly to be outside for very long. I ordered some yarn from Knit-Picks and now I think I will order some plants from The Growers Exchange.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -17°C and overcast. I can't believe that is is already February, but so happy that it is. I am getting SO tired of winter and I'm itching to get out in the gardens! Not sure what my plans are today, but its very cold out so it will be indoors. Have a great day all :)

It is snowing a bit not much on the ground at present. It depends on which weather report you watch we will get between 3 and 8 inches of snow. I'm hoping for the 3 inches. wannabe

Happy Sunday morning. We've had nice weather the last few days. Friday I didn't leave the property at all (yippee!)and spent most of the day outdoors. Saturday I did go into town for groceries. I dug out the irises that have multiplied way beyond my wants. Adios! I can't believe how much room they were taking up in both the front flower bed and the back. So now I have lots of room to add something that doesn't over run everything else. And I realized that I need to learn how to shovel with the left leg... my right knee was injured years ago and all that digging really aggravated it. Sat in front of the TV last night with the heating pad... feels much better today!
The temps have been nice, and even though it wasn't full sunshine, it was nice with what we had.
I managed to also clean up around the Clematis and put in a new trellis. Then out came the spray paint, to spruce up a few items.
There was a small rain shower last night, not enough to measure.
Today... kinda sunny with rain chances this afternoon and evening and temps going down to mid30s overnight.
First on the agenda... go buy some ribs from the church's fundraiser. Housework. And bake a Kumquat Tropical Cake to take to my cousin's Super Bowl party.

Good morning! It rained one tenth of an inch last night. It's just cloudy so far this morning. There was a brief visit from the sun but it was just teasing us. It didn't hang around much more than a couple of minutes. Went to breakfast. Met some friends and sat with them. Good breakfast, too. Read the paper, checked the computer. Now, what to do! Have a nice day!

Good Monday morning all. Currently -17°C and snowing. It's a snow day for most of southern Ontario today, so that means no school for my little one today. We are waiting to see if our groundhog, Wiarton Wille, will see his shadow. So far 2 other groundhogs across the country have seen their shadow predicting 6 more weeks of winter. Keeping my fingers crossed for a better result here. Just heard it's national cupcake day so I think we will be baking today! Have a great day all :)

Happy Monday morning. Cold north wind this morning. Temps from mid30s to mid50s... but sunny. Our rain chances increase tomorrow with temps still on the cool side.
I had fun at my cousin's super bowl party and even won $25! Maybe I'll save it to buy some plants? Nah. Won't last that long... maybe a few bags of fill dirt for where I dug up all those irises? :stew2:

Good morning all. Today started out at 24F/-4C and has only gone up about 5 degrees since then. Birdbaths are frozen solid and so are my fingers after filling feeders out there.

The 2015 issue of Flea Market Gardening is on the stands and one is waiting for me to sit down and read it. Check your local Walmart, Home Depot and Barnes and Noble book store for them. It's only published once a year but you can also sign up for their newsletter at fleamarketgardening.org

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -12°C and cloudy. Got my fingers dirty yesterday, just a little bit, by re-potting 2 small house plants. It was good therapy for this winter weary gardener! Dining room clean up/out is the plan today. Have a great day all :)

Happy Tuesday morning. Temps were in the low 30s this morning, but didn't get to the freezing mark. There's a 50% chance of rain today and we're supposed to make it up to the lower 50s.
After another cool day tomorrow, looks like we'll be getting much warmer with temps in the 70s for the weekend! :stew2:

Good afternoon everyone. It is -19 degrees Celsius today. Sun is out though. We got another 18" of snow yesterday and last night. There are huge drifts in the yard. Have one half way up my patio door. I am not plowed out yet so when I do I will shovel through the drifts. All the bird feeders are buried. Poor birdies have been swooping around where the feeders are but can't find their seeds. Nothing I can do about it until I get plowed out.

Good morning all. Started out this morning in the high 30's going into the low 60's later.
No laundry or dishes to do, too chilly to be outside, time to spend the rest of the day finishing the book I started last week.

Several years ago I started making Tuesday my reading day but I have gotten out of the habit in the last few years and I think I will take back Tuesday as my reading day!!! It's really scary to think of how many Tuesdays it's going to take to get caught up with all the books I have bought but not yet read.

Good afternoon all! Going to busy all day today preparing for tomorrow's Stew upgrade. I just know that I'm going to forget something, it happens almost every time. Here's hoping I don't!

Weather is mild enough but pretty dull out. Perfect keyboard weather :)

    Enjoy your Wednesday all!
