New ideas of picket fence

Category: GARDEN ROOMS | Posted: Sat Apr 28, 2007 3:28 am

Yesterday we bought two sections of picket fence off a lady we met at a barn sale. Today we played around with some ideas to do with more picket fence. So i took some pics of what it could look like,by propping it up.The arbor of course would be painted white to match. We would have to buy new picket fence though . I priced some at lowes, they have it for like $22.00 for 8 foot long sections.
Here is my pics of what it might look like with fence propped.

Now we would go from the start of the boxwoods , to down where the yellow peace rose is at the end of the driveway.
Here are some other pics.
The azeala's planted, but before we mulched them.

My hydrangea tree.Thought i lost it to the frost, but its coming out again.

Our new rain gauge.

The afternoon improved..trip to Lexington..

Category: GARDEN ROOMS | Posted: Thu Apr 26, 2007 4:03 am

Ron had to get his truck plates renewed so we went to Lexington later today. After he got his business done,we went by the antique store i bought my pergola from (1st one) to give the owner some pics of the finished product. Then we went into another one on that street, they were closing their business, and were having a up to 75% off sale.I found a few nice things. Then i seen it,yup i had to get one....a victorian outside light post with the globe balls, they had several diffrent ones in their store as fixture(decoration) the owner had them marked down to 169.00,and assuming, lol.you know what that means(makes a donkey out of you and me)well, the girl said 25% off, hmmm,i was thinking more like 50% off is what i wanted to pay,the store girl calls the owner....After a brief chat..TADA..I Get it for 50% OFF.Can i hear a WHEW-HOO???lol..im tickled of course..Ron is im sure rubbing his head,,lol..
Will take a pic of it tomorrow if its not raining.
But im not sure still where its going, but ill find a place.

Tonight we had more rain, and hail tonight, didnt have that last night. Its quieted down now, hopefully no damage, winds didnt seem as fierce.

Weve been sitting here discussing (Me and Ron) about painting the Garden shed,i want to paint it white with green trim, well he's not real crazy about it ,but says go ahead,so thats what im going to be doing soon,i hope...
PV in tree this morning, dark sky.
roses are ok.
pet in fountain,alive still, lol.
Have a goodnight all..

More gnome damage

Category: GARDEN ROOMS | Posted: Wed Apr 25, 2007 2:01 am

No not really, just to the pocket book of buying them, found 2 cute ones at Kmart.
Today we were out and driving by walmart,i seen their dumpster from the road, I said "Ron,there's greeniery in their dumpster ,turn around.Ron has never dumpster dived at walmart before,lol..W ell he was a trooper about going back there, and when we got there.....they had thrown out bleeding hearts, can you believe that, got 6 plants .They also had petunia's grabbed several of those.
there was tree's but we couldnt get to them, the dumpster was really tall, and the trees were covered up quite a bit(Boo-Hoo)..but i saved 6 bleeding hearts(saved about$45.00) they originally were priced at $7 something, their tags said.
Then sutherlands had hanging baskets for $2.99 for customers with a paper they had mailed to them,i got lucky found 1 outside near plants and got them for $2.99,hehehehe..Oh well,a penny saved right!
