beautiful victoriansI would also like the following victorian houses..... I wonder what it would cost to build one of these? That's if you could be lucky enough to find craftsmen or magicians, to do all of the intricate and detail of the building.Wow! and to have the know how, and of being able to make such intricate detail..... I just stand in awe of the whole concept....of the houses/mansions of a previous era. I can't help but wonder what the people that built the houses were like. And what they would think of our modern ways and tools...If I owned one of these I would certainly have the whole yard done up in the landscape of the victorian era. I just walked around town and thought of how people could improve things around the houses. Hubby just laughed and let me ramble, after all it was our anniversary...lol I have one of those minds that shouldn't be allowed to wander on its own. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I love the hanging baskets in this photo..... ![]() Kratz7 This blog entry has been viewed 747 times

Those are beautiful. Your not alone, I've often wondered the same things you mentioned. Like very old trees I wonder how old they are an how many have stood under them an the many conversations. If trees an houses could talk, what would they tell us.
You pair of romantics, you!
And here's another one. I like to wonder about what life was like when the houses were new. Especially when they're hundreds of years old. I'm very partial to cast-iron fencing, but it won't suit my home at all.
I visited the most amazing one up in Victoria BC. I think it was called Craigdarroch Castle. Even the back servant's starcase was amazing, and an upper-floor billiard's room, beautiful gentlemen's smoking room, stained glass everywhere... but the gal who grew up there spent the last decade or so of her life alone in the tiny cupola way up top. Only room for a chair and table, but views all around of the city and sea.
Wow!, that sounds like a beautiful place. But what a lonely life, I would love to have an old victorian. I also love the iron fencing and all of the detail people used to put into their houses.I could see having tea in the dining room at noon. My mother and I went to a tea rooma while ago....It was totally beautiful.... I'll have to dig up the photos....lol
They are beautiful old homes and I love all the fencing and detail on the houses. But wouldn't you hate to paint the detail, when they use 3-5 different colors? But I think that is what really makes them stand out. Great pics! Login or register to leave a comment. |
