OK. just after I said the male hairy doesn't visit very often he came twice today. Had all four woodpeckers and had a couple of the females also. 6 different woodpeckers.

I think word has got around among the birds in your area. The male has obviously decided to drop by to see for himself what's offer. Let's hope he becomes a regular visitor now.
