Thank you all for following the birds, I appreciate your messages. Another one for you to see. The Red-winged Blackbird. A female though so don't be looking for the red wing bars.

Yes, very different from the male. Her markings are very distinctive though, and pretty and she has a nice beak. I like her quite a lot.
PS I enjoy following the birds.

We have a bird called a Redwing here too but it's more like a thrush than a blackbird as the male is brown with the orange/red wing bars.
Your females colouring would blend in so well with her surroundings - ideal to deter predetors spotting her while she she was sitting on eggs.
