Old seed heads need to be removed or shrub becomes sparse and woody.

Very slow in the spring ... one of the last to leaf out so be patient!

Donna S (121) wrote the following about Trachelospermum asiaticum 'Snow N Summer' on Oct 22 2012 (Last edit was on Oct 22 2012)

Great for ground cover or container planting. Shades of white, pink and green all in one plant.

LOVE these Zinnia's! They are tough little plants that bloom, and bloom, and bloom!

Netty (13946) wrote the following about Chrysanthemum X morifolium on Oct 22 2012

Here in zone 5, Mum's are considered a hardy annual. They are neither evergreen nor invasive and are sold in the fall. If I am lucky enough to have them overwinter in my garden I keep them trimmed back until fall. Trimming them over the summer encourages them to bush out and produce more blooms. Keeping them shorter also keep the stems stronger and prevents them from flopping over.

The first round of flowers can be single form, but be patient and you will be rewarded with double blooms :)

Betsy Muse (1) wrote the following about Solanum lycopersicum 'Brandywine' on Sep 30 2012

I grew Brandywines for the first time this year (summer 2012) and plan to grow them again next year. The fruit is huge and makes a great salsa, sandwich or canned tomato. They do tend to have deep scabbing at the stem and blossom end, but are so large you don't mind cutting around the scabs.

Kiasmum (123) wrote the following about Peperomia polybtrya on Sep 26 2012

It makes a good and attractive houseplant and is very forgiving if left without water for a while. If its happy then it will send out baby plants that are very easy to propogate.I have found flowering to be a random occurrence. If you allow it to it will happily trail over the side of its pot.

I used to grow Perilla Magilla. The ones I've gotten lately do not have the vivid color that I used to get. This is even in the sun.

The heat and drought hit right after I put this in the ground so watering everyday began. But by June when my watering was restricted to only two days a week it had established itself and tolerated the 27 days of 100 temps and 73 days of no rain beautifully. Now with some rain and the temps closer to normal it has increased in width and the blooms are starting up again.
I will definitely be taking cuttings just in case it doesn't come back after the winter and to also have a couple more.
