Hi all! I'm a graduate student moving into a new city for school. Yesterday I visited the room I'll be renting and now I want to plan how I will decorate it, but I've never designed my own room before. The picture shows how it looks before the room is emptied.

To me it looks like the walls are painted light brown, the ceiling is white, the floor is carpeted with gray. I want my future room to look bright and cozy, but I can't repaint the walls. Any advice on the colour of bed frame, desk,...

Hi! Well, we need to stain the exterior of our house and paint the stucco. It has cedar siding that is a taupe color, off white stucco and stone exterior. The shutters are navy as well as the front door. We need to replace the roof and gutters as well. I was thinking a gray and white combination might be nice (Nantucket style), but maybe that would not work with this house? What are your thoughts? My style is traditional. Thank you so much for your helpful input!! ...
I'm seeking some input.
Never in the past have I had so much trouble selecting a color scheme. Probably because I despise this room/house so much that it just seems daunting...
Things being what they are, I'm moving from my 3500sq-ft home built in 2006 down to a 1300sq-ft rental built in 1977. I have a tentative thumbs-up to repaint and replace lighting. I'll sneak window treatment in there, but I can't push too much further.

I am officially color challenged! We're renovating our bathroom, and we're doing hte floors in a darkish gray/charchoal porcelain tiles, and on the walls we're doing a very matte white tile. does anyone have any suggestions regarding a color for the wall? i like a modern look, but i don't want the room to look too cold. it's also very small, so i was thinking I should avoid dark colors...? Advice, anyone? Thank you so much!
