Neither one will pay anything other than maybe gas money but it will hopefully be a start to advertise what I can do and get maybe some commercial jobs going around the area. Since both are going to be very different, I hope it will show a diversity of styles that I can accomplish working with individual tastes.

As someone who started a pondbuilding business at 48, there are some things I learned fast. Do not EVER do things free or cheap. You will soon have the rep of being cheap. You will work harder for every dime you make. Make yourself expensive and the best in the business. You will prosper. If you do things for free, do them for nursing homes, schools, etc. and make sure you get news coverage, newpapers is best.

That's very true Jan. A low price brings with it a prejudice of low quality.

I'd certainly take Jans advice - after all she's been there and done that!! Why work for next to nothing? Make a good profit so that you have enough to live on plus some to plough back into your business. Good luck.
